Summer Multicultural Access to Research Training (SMART) at University of Colorado - Boulder
SMART is a 10-week research internship that prepares undergraduates for graduate programs in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. Each summer, 25 students from institutions nation-wide participate in research under the guidance of faculty mentors and attend weekly workshops on scientific writing and presenting, GRE preparation, and the application process for graduate school. Interns earn three (3) hours of upper-division credit and receive a $3,200 stipend, room and board, and travel expenses.

Center for Excellence in Genomic Science Post-Baccalaureate Program
Our “Bridges to Graduate School” (BGS) Post-Baccalaureate Program is a two-year scientifically diverse training opportunity for recent college graduates and post-baccalaureate students who are preparing to apply to graduate programs in genomics or a related field. This CEGS will examine the effects of genetic and environmental perturbations on human cellular networks using protein-protein interaction mapping, proteomic analysis, and transcriptional profiling. University of Virginia Summer Research Internship Program (SRIP)
No application fee!
Ten week summer research internships are available for qualified undergraduates considering a career in biomedical research. We provide a generous stipend, round-trip travel, and housing to those accepted. Supported by peer-reviewed NIH grants and other extramural organizations, SRIP exposes a diverse group of students to current biomedical research. SRIP alumni have had great success at starting their research careers and many have enrolled in our graduate programs at UVA. Free GRE prep course offered!
