Lewis Educational Research Collaborative Internship Program (College)

LERCIP provides 10-week summer internships opportunities for students pursuing degrees in engineering, science, mathematics and other aerospace-related disciplines, as well as majors that lend support to NASA's mission such as business and public administration, finance and accounting. Students engage in authentic NASA-related, mission-based R&D activities.


Students engage in authentic NASA-related, mission-based R&D activities. The program is intended to encourage college students (from graduating high school seniors to PhD candidates) to pursue and earn undergraduate and graduate degrees. Students spend their summer at GRC working and learning in a professional environment using NASA research facilities and resources. Students work side-by-side with a GRC mentor and are incorporated into the day-to-day activities of the Center to the fullest extent possible. LERCIP has an educational component where students attend and participate in a variety of planned activities from professional development workshops to presenting at the Summer Research Symposium.

The application process will allow you to complete and submit your application on-line, deadline January 31, 2009. When completing the application, students will be asked to attach a resume. Once the application is completed and submitted the student will receive an email confirming the submission.

Note: You are still required to mail in your school transcripts and a teacher recommendation by the deadline date of January 31, 2009. No exceptions.
