Sourthern Education Foundation Internship Opportunity

Students, take advantage of this wonderful internship opportunity. The Southern Education Foundation seeks to expose a new generation of highly motivated and gifted college upperclassmen and graduate students to the importance of improving education for all.


Interns:
· Participate in an in-depth orientation program at the inception of the program that exposes them to outstanding speakers and information about education policy and practices;
· Work with cutting edge non-profit, corporate and foundation leaders;
· Develop an independent project about what they have learned; and
· Present what they have learned at a special debriefing at the end of the internship.

The program provides a generous stipend of $3,000 for undergraduates and $3,500 for graduate students.

In addition, this year we are able to offer a full-year fellowship to an outstanding young scholar for service and leadership development with the Southern Education Foundation in Atlanta, GA. The Program & Research Fellow will be directly involved in programmatic work relating to various foundation initiatives including the Southern Education Leadership Initiative, the Center to Serve Historically Black Colleges and Universities, the Latino & Black Education Initiative as well as ongoing education policy research. The fellow will have the opportunity to be exposed to an array of areas such as the independent/non-profit sector, leadership development, program development and implementation, and fundraising—thus enhancing their skills and knowledge of future career possibilities
