Brookside Internship Opportunity
There is an opportunity for 2 students to do a 7 week internship at Brookside Golf & Country Club. Brookside hosts an annual event called BrookStock. It is a 2 day event featuring food, golf, tennis, SuperGames, a silent auction, a raffle, 5k run, Columbus Zoo, pool party and more. This is a great way for students to get experience in many different types of events from sports to fundraising, concerts to children’s parties. It is a volunteer position from May 1 – June 21. It is approximately 10 hours per week, flexible, including nights and weekends. Interested students can call at 614-889-1758 or email kari@brooksidegcc.com.
Life Sports Internships
Learning in Fitness & Education (LiFE) Sports is a comprehensive youth development initiative at Ohio State University (OSU). LiFE Sports is built upon a historical community outreach program operating at OSU for the past 40 years, the National Youth Sport Program (NYSP). The LiFE Sports program will provides over 600 economically disadvantaged youth from the Columbus area with the opportunity to participate in various sport activities and at the same time develop social and personal skills.
LiFE Sports is currently hiring interns for the following positions: recreation leader, education leader, or counselor. Recreation leaders provide campers with sport instruction in one of the following sports: soccer, basketball, softball, swimming, football, lacrosse, volleyball, dance, and recreational games. Education leaders provide campers with social skill instruction through play-based activities. Counselors supervisor and mentor a group of 25 LiFE Sports campers and provide constant supervision of campers.

Project ASPIRE seeks future teachers
Project ASPIRE (Apprenticeships Supported by Partnerships for Innovation and Reform in Education) aims to create a new model for preparing teachers to be successful in high-need school districts. Currently, we are looking to recruit a cohort of 30 students who will receive a Masters in Foreign Language Education (K-12) and Math and Science (secondary only). If accepted into the program, you will receive a $30,000 stipend and will commit to a three year teaching agreement in Columbus City Schools. Read more: http://www.ohioaspire.org
