Research Opportunities

Undergraduate Research Opportunity: Human Development and Family Science

This is a research position only for students at OSU who were awarded work study. You must have been awarded work study money as part of your financial aid package in order to apply.



Dr. Natasha Slesnick and Denitza Bantchevska are seeking a work study student research assistant ($7.50/hour) for the OSU Mothers Research Project and the OSU-Maryhaven Project. The OSU Mothers Research Project and the OSU-Maryhaven Project work with substance-using and homeless women and their children.

The ideal candidates must be available 10 -15 hours per week or more (including holiday breaks) with 4 hour blocks of time open. The position requires a conscientious, self-motivated and professional person, with a mature attitude, and a willingness to do new tasks as assigned. Must have basic word processing skills and be interested in gaining experience in a research setting.

Responsibilities include: Transcription and coding of family therapy sessions; data collection; quality assurance; maintenance and protection of confidential information; and, various clerical duties.
