Information Regarding First Year Retention Rates For New Freshman
For the year 2006, the African American male first year retention rate is up compared to previous years! Retention is the number or percentage of students that return to the University for the next academic year.
The rate for 2006 is 90.8%! In 2005, the rate was 86.5%, which is a jump of 4.3 percentage points.

For Hispanic males in the year 2006, the retention rate was 89.4%.
For White, and Non Hispanic males, the retention rate was 93.2%.
Among the female retention rate for the first year totals include:
African American women, 88.4%.
Hispanic women, 89.2%.
White, and Non Hispanics, 92.5%.
Total African American first year retention rate is 89.3%.
Total Hispanic first year retention rate is 89.3%
Total White/Non Hispanic first year retention rate is 92.9%.
