This conference will examine some of the most vital social issues
affecting the health of the Black family. Among the topics to be discussed:

* · Why does the Mt. Vernon district have the highest rate of
diabetes in Ohio? Was it always this way?

* · Too Soon, Too Small, Too Sick: Black Infant Mortality in Our
Community

* · Black female depression and its affect on the African
American family

* · Elderly issues on the Near East side: a historical perspective

*· HIV/AIDS: A rising epidemic

* · Self - hatred: Homicide in the black community

Each panel will conclude with a short question and answer period.
