“SUCCESS IS A CHOICE!” BACK TO SCHOOL COMMUNITY FORUM
Youth led forum to discuss prevalent youth concerns at public venue
Nationally known motivational speaker Cedric Riley, Radio-One, and Zelma Watson George Community Center, will hold its first annual “Success is a Choice!” Back to School Community Forum from 3:30p.m. to 6p.m. on August 16, 2008 at the Zelma Watson George Community Center in its Community Room.
Riley will moderate a forum where panelists will discuss experiences and ways to enhance the lives of Ohio’s foster children and general youth.
The “Success is a Choice!” Back to School Community Forum will bring a much needed venue, for the discussion of experiences and issues faced by today’s youth and adults to educate participants and the public. Topics ranging from self-identity, self-confidence, and personal achievement, to foster care awareness, the school achievement gap, and accountability, will bring about a robust educational experience for youth and adults in attendance.
The event will promote the importance of mentorship in guiding youth and professionals, and encourage that Success is a Choice despite life’s circumstances, to the extent that we harness our energy and utilize our potential.
Cedric Riley, spent more than seven years of his life in the Cuyahoga County Foster Care System. The eldest of five siblings, Cedric Riley emerged as a positive individual charged to motivate others, and help positive change for youth. As a speaker, Cedric has addressed foster children, social workers, and others, as conveyed on his site, www.cedricriley.com, where his speech at Ohio’s Summit on Children is posted. He has established the organization, Science in Motion Group LLC., to facilitate his passion and has plans to establish a non-profit organization the fall of 2008.
