The China and Brazil Gateway Study Abroad Programs have been designed to address the historic and on-going need for introductory study abroad programs that are intentionally designed for first and second year Ohio State undergraduates of any major, though students of all ranks will be welcome to apply. As early exposure programs with accessible format and content, the China and Brazil Gateway Programs are ideal study abroad choices for students who want to have a meaningful international experience with classes taught in English, and learn more about the diverse culture and global significance of a particular country.

Features that the China and Brazil Programs share in common:

- Month long program (4 weeks in-country)
- Based at local institutions with plenty of opportunities for interaction with peers
- 10 hours of Ohio State credit (International Studies 697, International Studies 597)
- Instruction in English
- Field trips and excursions
- Ohio State academic and resident directors
- Open to students of any discipline
- Spring Term 2011 registration

In the semester calendar, these programs will be offered during May session. We are still working on the 2011 program fees- please be assured that we are making every effort to make them as economical as possible. The application deadline for both programs is February 1, 2011. Pre-departure orientations will take place throughout Spring term.
